• install pcscd
• install opensc

The daemon starts automatically.

• serial number of a card: opensc-tool -serial 2>/dev/null
• write all to stdout: opensc-tool -f
• card navigation: opensc-explorer

This was tested with CardOS V4.2B and works fine.
